What to order
Why go
The concept is the fire itself: a grill wall of wood embers doing the cooking, cuts and vegetables passing over it, nothing hiding behind sauce. It is the most controlled kitchen in this guide — resort-calm room, a real wine list, service that unhurriedly explains the cuts. You come here once per trip, on the night you decide the trip deserves it.
Non-guests are welcome — reserve a day or two ahead and ask the hotel gate to expect you. The walk back is dark and cold: 15 minutes southeast of the plaza, or a short taxi. At US$ 30–50 (≈ CLP 29,000–49,000) it is the featured splurge in our 5-day itinerary, and guests of Cumbres San Pedro simply wander down.
