What to order
Why go
La Estaka does one thing and does it without decoration: coals, meat, plates built for cold desert nights. The skewers that give the place its name arrive sizzling, and the beef cuts come with rice, fries or salad in quantities that assume you just walked in from a hike. It is not the room for atmosphere — it is the room for eating.
For non-carnivores the options narrow fast, so vegetarians are better served at Blanco Deli Verde a few blocks over. Mains sit at US$ 12–22 (≈ CLP 12,000–21,500), and the budget arithmetic that makes grills like this one work is covered in our San Pedro budget guide. Arrive before 21:00 in high season; later than that you may wait, and after 22:00 the kitchen may simply be done.
