About Atacama Deserts

What this site is

• An independent editorial site. No operator sponsorships: no operator pays for a mention, a placement or a verdict. Every page is written from our own research.
• Not a travel agency. We do not sell tickets, we do not run tours and we do not take bookings. When a page sends you to a provider, the booking happens with that provider, under their conditions.
• Some links are affiliate links. If you book through one of them we may earn a commission. It never changes what you pay and it never changes what we recommend.

Every one of those pages exists in English and in Spanish. The counts on this page are read from the corpus itself, so they cannot drift away from what the site actually publishes.

How we check what we publish

• Tour prices are hand-checked, and the date travels with the price. The 15 tour prices on this site were checked on2026-10-19. A price without a date is not a fact, it is an estimate, so this site does not publish one.
• The rest of the corpus was reviewed onchecked 2026-10-27. Destinations, guides, places, food, lodging and the questions were checked on that date.
• Figures that can change are labelled as reviewed, not verified. Entry fees at the parks change, and every destination page says so: verify before you go.
• The exchange rate is a reference rate(site reference rate, checked 2026-10-30; the market that day was CLP 987.71). A rate printed on a page is not what your card will charge you.

Our verdict, next to the operator's words

Each tour carries two texts side by side: the operator's own description, and our verdict — who it suits, what is included, what is not, and when we would skip it. We write the second one. 15 of the 15 tours on this site carry it. Repeating a brochure is not a guide; saying whether we would send our own money there is.

Two languages, written twice

The site publishes in English and in Spanish, and both versions have their own text. The Spanish pages are not a machine translation of the English ones: they are written for a Spanish reader, over the same corpus and with the same verification. Every page has its pair in the other language, and the two are linked to each other.

What we do not publish

• No company registration. Atacama Deserts is an independent editorial site. We don't publish a company registration because we don't have one to publish.
• No address, no phone number, no named person. Nothing here identifies a registered office or a physical person of the editorial team, so we are not going to print one. The phone numbers on the map page belong to the operators and shops listed there, not to us.
• No email address. There is no mailbox configured on this site, so printing an address would be decoration. The channel that actually reaches us is the request form on the destination pages, and thecontact pageexplains exactly how it works and where the message ends up.

Corrections

If a price, a time or a fact on this site is wrong, we want to know. Write through the request form on any destination page and put "correction" in the message. We would rather fix a page than argue about it.
