What this site is

Atacama Deserts is editorial information about San Pedro de Atacama, Chile: destination pages, field guides, tour comparisons, prices with the date they were checked, and free planning tools.

It is not a travel agency. This site does not sell tickets, does not run tours, does not operate excursions and does not take bookings. When a page sends you to a provider, the booking, the payment, the cancellation and everything that happens on the trip happen between you and that provider, under their terms. The rule of the site in one line: we compare, you book.

Prices, hours and availability change

• Every price carries the date it was checked. The 15 tour prices on this site were checked on2026-10-19. A price without a date is an estimate, and this site does not publish an estimate as if it were a fact.
• Entry fees are labelled as reviewed, not verified. The rest of the corpus was reviewed on checked 2026-10-27. Park fees, opening hours and access rules change: that is why every destination page tells you to verify before you go.
• Check before you travel. Confirm the price, the schedule and the cancellation rules with the operator on the day you book, and again before you go.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links go to GetYourGuide or Viator. They carry a tracking tag with our domain (utm_source) so we can tell which pages send people to a provider. Our affiliate programme is not approved yet, so today those links go straight to the provider with no partner identifier and we earn nothing from them. If the programme is approved later, the link will carry a partner identifier and we may then earn a commission on a booking.

Either way, two things never change: the price you pay is the price the provider charges, and our verdicts are ours. A commission never moves a tour up or down a ranking, and no operator pays for a mention on this site. Independent editorial. Maps and tools

The map, the map builder, the planner, the budget calculator, the packing list, the altitude guide and the moon calendar are reference material, not a navigation system. The coordinates are points of interest with a verified address, not tracks or turn-by-turn routes, and the GPX export is meant for a navigation app you choose. Nothing on this site knows where you are, and nothing on this site guides you while you drive.

Our verdict is an opinion

When we say a tour is worth it, that is our editorial judgement, written from our own research, and it is not a guarantee of what your trip will be like. We correct it when the facts change. The operator's own description is the operator's, and any rating we publish is the operator's rating with a link to its source.

Information on this site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for what an operator does or does not do, for a road being closed, for a park changing its rules, for the weather, for a flight being late, or for a price changing between the day we checked it and the day you travel. Decisions about your trip, your money and your safety are yours; travel insurance is yours to arrange.

Corrections and changes
